My Abstract Self

Image
For the final assignment I was asked to do 7 digital images that represent myself, I chose to do cars because it's my aspiration to become a car designer. I mainly like older cars, so those were what I used. I grabbed some images from the internet and edited them in Photoshop using various tools like the pen, clone stamp, and brush tools. These kinds of images are very useful for someone who intends on modifying their car, it's like a mood board would be for a design project. With this, we can see how our car would look with a different set of wheels or some coilovers. I like the aesthetic of a lowered car with a low roofline, so, I think I nailed it with this project. The composition is balanced in all pictures and corrections were made where necessary. If I would spend more time on each picture I would have done more small changes and would change the background on most of the images, but I still like t this result a lot. ...

Website

Image
In this class, we learned how to make a simple website in Adobe Dreamweaver. I just used the image of a racket because I like tennis and that was the first thing that came to mind. I used the <img> to insert the image, <h> command to define the size of the image and <a> to insert the hyperlink. I tried to host the website but the options I found were paid or too complicated, so if you want to see the website itself, here is the link to where you can download it  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ORJfOZMQyXAKDoLbkCG4A9b7Bu5fUd0L?usp=sharing

XJ6

Image
I really like the Jaguar XJ6, it embraces the spirit of the '70s and gives it a British touch. With this car I wanted to do something more simple, so, I just lowered it, changed the wheels and narrowed the grille, because I think it is too big in the original model and added a window banner. The main tools I used were the Pen tool, the Transform tool, and the Clone Stamp tool. I also used the Brush and Layer masks for all the things that required shadow or transparency. I'm pleased with the end result as the car maintains it's classy appearance but now looks more sporty.

64 Country Squire

This car is part of the same project as the Rover 14, it represents my aspirations as a Car Designer. I think chopped wagons look really good, I once saw one that was a drag racing car and fell in love with the concept. My objective with this car was for it to be an AWD street and Drag Race car that also has the looks and uniqueness to be a show car. What I did with this car was mainly lower the roof line using the free transform tool and stretch the hood with the same tool to fix the proportions. I also lowered the chrome bumper and gave the car a horizontal stance instead of leaving the front lower than the back and changed the wheels and tires. I like the end result a lot, I achieved all my objectives and would like to make something similar in real life in the future.

Rover 14

Image
This is part of the final project for the Media Technology class. We were asked to make 7 digital works that represent ourselves. I chose to make visual modifications in cars because I aspire to be a Car Designer. This is a lowered and chopped rover 14. This kind of modification is usually done with American cars, like the Ford Model A, but I decided to use the rover as I think it has better lines than his American contemporaries. First, the pen tool was used to select the body of the car, then I moved it down in relation to the wheels. Then I used the warp tool to shorten the roof and a layer mask to hide the parts that interfered with the body. Lastly, I made some shadows with the brush tool and fixed the background with the Clone Stamp tool. I really like the end result as it still keeps most of the original look while also being much different and more aggressive looking.

Why the Porsche 911 is the most classic car ever

Image
The Porsche 911 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made, it has long flowing lines and few edges. One of the things that makes a car classic in after so many years it still looks good and could look like a new car with few exterior changes. That probably is because the model hasn't ever received a major redesign, having always had the same overall look. One other thing that makes it the most classic car is the recent rise in value which is a thing that happens to classic cars, they used to be cheap, under 10000 £, but now,  they go on average for 40000£ with special models going up to 200000£ in pristine condition. In conclusion, the Porsche 911 is the most classic car because of it's simple and flowing lines and has stood the test of time.

Not Hot

Image
In this class I made a short video with my friend, we chose to lip sync "Man's not Hot" as it was the song we both knew the lyrics to and liked. We used our smartphones to film a lot of takes of the first and second clip, then I brought them into Premiere Pro and cut the clips and synced the video with the song. Last, I applied the effects to make for a smoother transition and all the minor finishing touches. I made a mistake when starting to edit the video, I used too low of a resolution when starting the Project, but in the end, the result turned out ok, considering our current knowledge and skill level. Still,  I believe that if we were going to make something similar again, it would turn out better.
